About the SHCA Trust
Established in 2005, the Siberian Husky Club of America Trust is dedicated to improve the lives of Siberian Huskies in the US through charitable work in the areas of Education, Health, and Rescue.  Through fundraising and donations, the Trust provides grants to be used for health and genetic research, to provide educational materials, and to help with local rescue efforts benefitting the Siberian Husky around the Country.  Organized as an IRS 501(c)(3) public charity, donations to the SHCA Trust may be tax deductible to the extent permitted by law; please consult your tax advisor for details.

Partnering with the SHCA Trust for fund raising and grant funding provides the following benefits:

  • Tax deductibility of donations:  Because the Trust is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, your donations may be tax deductible, which is not the case for donations to other types of non-profit organizations, such as SHCA, Inc.  The Trust also provides receipts of your donation for tax purposes.  (Please consult with a tax professional for advice.)
  • Assurance that donations are used as specified:  Because of the Trust’s purpose, as well as our IRS charitable status, we are compelled to do everything we can to assure that all donations are being used for Siberian Huskies.  You can be assured that donations made to the Trust will benefit the Siberian Husky, and that donations made to a special fund, such as the Mass Surrender/Seizure Fund, will be used only for Siberian Huskies in that situation.  Unlike a donation made directly to a shelter which may not be used exclusively for Siberian Huskies, our grant funding process includes oversight on how the donation is used.
  • Combined donations:  Your donation will be combined with those from other Siberian lovers, so the total grows.  These larger, combined donations can make a more significant impact in the world of the Siberian Husky.
  • Additional funding from the Trust:  When donating to the Trust, your donation is supported by the Trust’s General or special Funds.  Money previously donated or that was the result of prior fund-raising efforts is also used to fund our grants supporting the Siberian Husky in our grants for Health, Education, and Rescue.

Donations to the SHCA Trust will be used to support the Siberian Husky in the areas of Health, Education, and Rescue within the United States.  If donating for a specified fund, should donations exceed the immediate need, the donation balance will remain in that fund for future similar needs.
